We appreciate the challenge and satisfaction of that first contact with an unknown language, then discovering, taming, taking ownership of it, as well as the culture it conveys. We decided to deconstruct and rebuild the language school, bringing together the best of the classroom and the technological resources of today, taking on the challenge of awakening the drive to learn that exists in every student. Our ambition as educators is to propose an effective model of study adapted to the needs of individual students and to our present times. Personally, we strive for a more enlightened and therefore freer world.
Cecilia has always been in love with the classroom and the school. First as a student, then as a teacher. She understands that teaching and sharing knowledge is her vocation, which she nurtured since childhood, when she taught her dolls. That vocation was confirmed when she gave her first class when she was 14 years old. She discovered the taste for foreign languages in the first year of Modern Languages, at UFPE, a Brazilian federal university. She finally made peace with English but gave her heart to French. This passion gained weight and led to three years living and studying in France, yielding a French master's degree in didactics of language and culture teaching. Her professional career includes experiences at CAVILAM, a renowned institution of French teaching, internships in secondary schools of Poland, private tuition and a few years in the French Alliance.
Pedro has two kids and is married to Cecília. Today, he lives on Earth, but he intends to retire on Mars. He nourishes since his young age a passion for languages and technology. He studied Modern Languages at a Brazilian Federal University and at the Université Blaise Pascal in France. After many years teaching both English and French, he undertook the project of creating this platform, which led to learning an entirely different profession. He studied Computer Systems Analysis and Development (IT) at the Technology Faculty of São Paulo, while leading software development at Alloy, where he created and maintains the Pantoufle platform. He currently lives in Québec and works as an IT consultant
Sheila has a degree in French Language and Literatures from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, she also has a Masters and a PhD in Translation Studies. In addition to translation studies, she is interested in didactic studies and French as a Foreign Language. In 2021 she won a scholarship to pursue further training in French didactics with an emphasis on Québec French at the University of Laval.
Passionate about foreign languages, she has also studied Russian, Italian and Arabic, and specially today English.
She has been working as a French teacher since 2013 and cannot imagine doing anything else in her life.
Selmy was born in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, and currently lives in Marília, São Paulo. She holds a master's degree in Philosophy from UNESP, and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the same university. She has been working at Pantoufle since 2019 and took on the role as the School Coordinator in 2020. Her personal life is deeply involved with art. Since her childhood Selmy draws, writes and sings.
As General Coordinator, her main duty is to assist the students and ensure a proper deliver of the many activities of Pantoufle office and coordination. She is responsible for the school's agenda and for the staff management, as well as monitoring the department's internal records.
